KAIRS schools provide numerous extracurricular activities.
KAIRS schools offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities including sports. On the high school level, KAIRS members are active in KSHSAA (Kansas State High School Activities Association) meetings.

KAIRS provides affordable and practical professional development for its members - with three conferences and workshops each year for teachers and administrators.

KAIRS worked closely with Kansas Dept. of Education on approving alternate accreditation.
For the past decade, KAIRS advocated for alternate accreditation that satisfied state requirements but allowed religious and independent schools to maintain their unique and diverse missions and eliminate duplicating accreditation procedures.

The Kansas Association of Independent and Religious Schools (KAIRS) is the state’s largest organization of non-public schools. Now in its 50th year, KAIRS is committed to excellence in education and to maintaining unity within its membership and productive relationships with public school leadership.
Each year, KAIRS offers professional learning opportunities to all member schools, and presents annual and quarterly meetings for KAIRS member teachers and administrators.
We organize conferences and workshops, and offer other opportunities to advance knowledge about issues pertaining to non-public school education in Kansas.
